Life-long Learning - Professional Development - Personal Growth

I have been practicing meta-cognition throughout my professional career by:

  • Daily reflections

  • Professional Teaching Journals

  • Biography of Learning

  • Teaching Philosophy

Expressing my thoughts and reflecting upon them have helped me understand those parts of my teaching practice that worked well in the classroom and those that still have room for improvement.

I believe in life-long learning and will continue reflecting upon my own actions as a teacher in the future.

Professional Literature and Learning Resources

I gain a lot of knowledge from the pedagogical books and magazines. The titles below are of books I have recently read, which influenced and inspired me.

  • Kieran Egan "Getting It Wrong from The Very Beginning" - cognitive tools and the importance of language in learning.

  • Margaret Searle: "Causes and Cures in The Classroom" - protocols how to perform the root cause analysis of academic and behavioral problems.

Professional Development Days and Workshops

These special learning events offer another opportunity to learn new teaching strategies. They also encourage learning from fellow teachers and staff members.
