Robotics and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math)
- Promoting Creativity and Problem Solving
Robotics could be a fascinating learning experience and possibilities of employing it in education are endless.
I have been thinking about how I could use it in my area of Fine Arts and I though since we can program the moving part and decide where the robot goes that could act as a pen holder in motion and the students could use it as a drawing device.
Moreover, not only for random drawing but also for geometry figure drawing combining art with math. Additionally, the robots could be used in science to build simple machines: pulley system, levers, axils etc. Plus constructing it, is technically engineering, especially when we add calculations to make sure we have a proper design.
Let’s top it all with aesthetics and creativity in design and it comes not only to multiple intelligences learning of STEM but also STEAM where art has a role to play too. I would definitely advocate using those robotic kits in many different subjects and collaborating within the whole PLC.
