Today I had the privilege to participate in this very informative and interesting session at Kootenay Discovery School About online resources that could be accessible to students who are away from school for a few days. KDS offers a variety of courses which contain valuable information that could be used in daily basis teaching and learning. Although they do not focus on elective courses, there is a lot of resources that could be used for other subjects such as Social Studies, Science and Math. It was great to learn a little bit more about blended models of teaching. It is definitely interesting how these days we can include different delivery methods that offer more flexibility for students who attend or temporarily miss traditionally set school. I have been using online platforms, portals and websites for years, but it is always enriching to view new material that might engage students in class and give them opportunity to learn when they are away.
And also, KSD’s new location, I mean, the building with its new interior and exterior remodeled design is such a visually attractive place to be in. Very pleasant environment!
I would also like to mention Andrea Graham, the workshop facilitator, who has such a positive appearance. She made this session very relaxed – thank you!
Afternoon, self-directed session – I am learning about AutoDesk Sketchbook App. I hope to use this App for Art 7, 8 and 9 project this spring. There are several tutorials that I am going to watch and then try my skills on school’s iPads with a stylus pen. Whish me luck 😊
Haha, and this is what I came across first:
